General Questions About Irrigation Systems

Will my lawn be damaged when I install a sprinkler system?

We at MaryJoe Irrigation & Lawn Care, Inc. will exercise the utmost care and caution while installing your irrigation system. We will use equipment designed to avoid damaging the grass in your lawn. Depending on the current condition of your soil and grass, your lawn should be completely recuperated from the installation process within two to three weeks.

How will my irrigation system conserve water?

Conservation is always a top priority when we design and install our irrigation systems. Our sprinkler system specifications will ensure the even distribution of water, eliminating the chance that water will be wasted on areas that do not require watering (i.e. sidewalks, driveways, etc.). We also help our clients program their sprinkler systems to run in the early morning when less sunlight helps to prevent evaporation and less wind keeps water from being blown away.

Will the sprinklers still run if it’s raining?
We install smart timers and/or automatic rain sensors on our sprinkler systems which ensure that your sprinkler will pause its automatic watering cycle in the event of rain. A smart timer will pause the automatic watering cycle before rainfall occurs, while a rain sensor will pause the system during rainfall. Your sprinkler system will reactivate after a sufficient amount of time and level of dryness.
Will it be difficult to operate my sprinkler system?

We will ensure that you know how to easily use and manage your sprinkler system in a way that keeps your lawn beautiful and your water bills down! At MaryJoe Irrigation, we consider our job to be complete only after you feel confident and well informed about the operation and upkeep of your irrigation system for all times of the year. We will help you to protect your investment in a sprinkler system so that you can enjoy its benefits for many years to come!

Does the type of soil on my lawn affect the sprinkler system?

Yes, the type of soil affects the frequency and intensity of watering. For example, sandy soil usually requires more frequent watering at lighter levels of intensity. A soil that is rich in clay can be watered less frequently. MaryJoe Irrigation specialists always assess your lawn’s soil, slope, and other important factors before developing the appropriate irrigation design and proper programming of your sprinkler system!.
